Walnuts Shopping Centre is ´All Shook Up!´

To commemorate the death of the King the Centre is inviting shoppers to give their best Elvis renditions!

On 16th August 1977 the world was rocked by the death of music legend, Elvis Presley.  The iconic status he achieved in his lifetime coupled with a sudden and relatively early death cemented his position as one of the most famous rock stars the world has ever seen.

As a tribute to the King, the Walnuts Shopping Centre will be running an ‘All Shook Up’ singing competition on Saturday 15th August between 11am and 4pm. Contestants will be invited up on stage, in front of a select judging panel, to perform their favourite Elvis track for the chance to win a massive selection of fantastic prizes!

Martin Price, Walnuts Centre Manager said: “Elvis is the undisputed King of rock ‘n’ roll.  This is a great opportunity for local people to come along to show us their best u-hu’s and pelvic rolls to celebrate the life of the King.  With classic hits such as ‘Love Me Tender,’ ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ and ‘Suspicious Minds’ to choose from, we would encourage people to book a singing slot as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the chance to win some fabulous prizes.”

The stores at Walnuts will also be getting into the spirit by donning Elvis quiffs and dressing up in honour of the King.  This is a day out at the Shopping Centre that is not to be missed!

To book your slot please send your email address, telephone number and the song you would like to sing to [email protected]  by Monday 10th August.
