FRIENDLY GIANTS TAKEOVER AS BFG MANIA HITS ORPINGTON   -          

Big friendly giants were spotted at ODEON ORPINGTON this week ahead of the release of family favourite, The BFG -The Steven Spielberg blockbuster hits ODEON screens this Friday 22 July  

          A host of giant-themed treats await guests visiting the Orpington cinema over opening weekend   

A number of big, friendly, giants were spotted splatch-winkle (translation: hurrying about) at ODEON Orpington this week ahead of the release of highly-anticipated family favourite, The BFG, this Friday.   

As one of the biggest children’s novels of all time gears up to hit the silver screen, kids visiting Europe’s largest cinema chain over the opening weekend will receive their very own ‘giant’ ears.   To celebrate the release, guests will be given the chance to learn the unique Gobblefunk language spoken by the big friendly giant himself. 

The cinema will also be re-branding its famous Candy King Pick & Mix stations for a limited period to tie in with the film’s theme.   

In celebration of 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, the legendary writer’s 1982 classic novel comes to the big screen under the magical direction of Steven Spielberg and starring Oscar-winner Mark Rylance as ‘The BFG’.   Andy Edge, Commercial Director at ODEON UK & Ireland, said: “We’re bringing the BFG to life with loads of fun treats for our guests which will create unforgettable memories and photos. As one of literature’s most iconic characters, The BFG is part of a huge summer of storytelling here at ODEON – and we’re honouring the friendly hero by hosting our very own giant takeovers this weekend.”   

As well as the giant-themed celebrations, families visiting the Orpington cinema will also have the opportunity to take advantage of the ODEON summer family ticket offer, which includes film, food and drink for a family of four for only £30*.
